thanks for the idea! i have two yellow-sided green-cheeked conures, who were both living in outdoor aviaries prior to moving in with me. in switzerland the breeders seem to only feed their birds seed – they are a bit behind the times. i’m now trying to introduce vegetables into their dishes but naturally they are not trying any of them! they love apples but i have not tried other fruits yet (i’ve only had them for 5 days!). tonight i’m mixing cooked oats with peas, steamed carrots, frozen berries, and apples, and of course, the required seed. let’s see if they’ll try it!!!!

The “Kooks” do have their way don’t they? Great birds!
Mattie is such an amazing dog. She is innocence in a little furry suit and after what she’s been through, I’m just happy she isn’t either under the bed for eternity or chewing my face off.
Instead, she chose to be a quiet, introspective little soul who likes baths, treats and tummy rubs. How can you argue with that?
And the floor? LOVE IT!

Well, it did at the time, but it’s just what you deal with when you’re trying to cope with a stressed bird. It all worked out in the end and she is a fabulous member of the house!
I have no scars whatsoever and Nyla is a wonderful little girl. It was worth it. And that was well over a year ago.
